Relaxed family photoshoots in Coventry and Warwickshire

If you're like me, you'll understand the magic of looking through old family photographs; turning the pages, laughing at dodgy haircuts (thanks mum) and immediately being transported back into that exact time and place.

The reason we love those family photos so much is because the photos in them are of real moments. Those albums contain memories that can't be staged or forced.

This is the reason that I don't do traditional posing. I don't force everyone to lie on the floor and say cheese in matching outfits with the biggest at the bottom and the smallest on top, unless that's what you guys actually want to do (in which case let's go for it!). I don't get children or teenagers to pretend they're enjoying themselves. I don't force anyone to smile.

I photograph families as they are; beautiful and real.

I offer family photoshoots both in your own home or outdoors (30 minutes of travel from Coventry is included, with a small fuel cost for further afield).

What to expect

Find out more about family photoshoots

Before your family photoshoot

Once you've booked in, you will be emailed a link to your online family photoshoot handbook. There, you'll find my booking form where you can give me a list of all the shots you're hoping to get; let me know who will be joining us for the shoot; tell me if you'd like all the photographs to be unposed or if you'd like to have a few where I give you some gentle instructions; and pick your location. I can suggest locations if you need some ideas!

During your family photoshoot

I will help you and your family to relax and be as natural as you can. If you've requested some specific shots or would like certain poses, I won't boss you around, but I will gently direct you into the best light and most flattering positions. I tend to grab some of the best photos when you don't even know I'm pressing the shutter!

If you have little ones, your session will be entirely child-led and I will never force children into poses or to smile, but I will make sure they are having as much fun as possible!

In one, hour long family photoshoot, the images you'll get will range from fairly formal (everyone in a big group) to totally candid (when you think I'm finished but I snap one more shot and it's the best one of the bunch).

After your family photoshoot:

You will receive a link to a large gallery of proofs. I offer a totally optional, no pressure option to upgrade and purchase the whole gallery if you can't decide on just 10 favoruties, which also includes a large print. Info about upgrading your family session is below.

My relaxed attitude to family photography doesn't mean the final images you get from me will be just the same as the casual phone snaps you already have. My super high quality images can be printed to the size of a single duvet (and that's not an exaggeration- one client had an image of mine printed onto a blanket!), and I will professionally edit the photos that you choose, making the colours pop and the light look perfect. I also have a zero "dodgy airbrushing" policy, so you won't end up looking like a waxwork model of yourself.
